JENNA TURK (she/her)

A writer/director with a background in theatre originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Jenna is now based in Calgary, Alberta. In 2020, she shot her first short film, Bearcat, with the support of the Herland Mentorship Program for Emerging Women in Film under the guidance of Sandi Somers and she was hooked! For the past 5 years now she has been focused on working in film and television both independently and professionally. Jenna spent the past two seasons as a Story Editor on Heartland and is currently working in the AD department on a new TV show. She has a BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor and a MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. Jenna is a member of CAEA/ACTRA, the DGC and WGC. She is the proud auntie of Harry and Dorothy, and is in love with her cat, Beans.  Jenna believes in kindness, honesty, and rigour in her artistic practice.
